Recurring iron corrosion damage to an eighteenth century facade

Window  jamb, split vertically by iron corrosion, being pinned using phosphor -bronze and polyester resin

Historic stone and mortar structures were surprisingly often reinforced with wrought iron bars, pins and cramps.

Much stone conservation effort is directed to dealing with the problems caused by wrought iron corrosion.

My experience in contracting offers an invaluable basis from which to advise on practical strategies for determining the seriousness of corrosion problems, and the best approaches to deal with them.
